Bait and switch, badly implemented
If you are documenting any detail in your patient visits, Kareo wastes your time on nonsense they "claim" to not be able to fix: the software times out with out warning and repeatedly when editing, causing a loss of data, then a rushed attempt to get it in a second, third and fourth time before the software timing error comes up again. They claim it's a HIPAA or security requirement to make us suffer this rude abuse of our time. They won't configure their software to scale for larger fonts in either Firefox or Safari -- a substantial lack of consideration for older physicians. And, they claim, they "can't" program for Safari, in spite of the size of that market. BUT, IF YOU WANT TO COLLECT APOLOGIES, CIRCULAR CONVERSATIONS, AND REPEATED READING "TECH SUPPORT" SCRIPTS WHILE IGNORING YOUR QUESTIONS AND COMPLAINTS WHOLESALE, THEN KAREO WILL DELIVER, IN SPADES! I've been fighting with this software now over two years, on the PMR and the "free" EHR, but free only if you value your own time at $zero worth!

Hi Jerry and thanks for sharing your feedback about Kareo here on TrustLink. We understand that the time-out issues can be frustrating, but I thought I would share some tips that may help you understand what might be happening. If you are having issues with being logged out of the EHR unexpectedly, please be aware of possible causes: - Kareo EHR doesn’t allow access from two computers (or two different browsers at the same time). When you log into one device (or one browser), any other device (or other browser) will automatically get logged out. - Kareo EHR allows opening multiple tabs on the same browser but this can cause a session timeout. If you open multiple tabs to multi-task or speed your work, we recommend that you close tabs that you are not actively using. If an individual tab is inactive for more than 15 minutes it will log you out, even if you are active on another tab. In regards to the font, you can set the font from the browser you are using. The web app defaults to standard size but you can increase the font as necessary. We did not notice any compatibility issues until I zoomed to 200%. For example, zooming in 200% on the Trust Link site creates the same compatibility issues so this is not isolated to Kareo. It is a web browser limitation. Kareo recommends that the web app is accessed through FireFox or Chrome browsers. It can be accessed from any web browser; however, some of the features may be limited or unusable on these browsers.
