This is unbelievable
|
Over the past 2 years, Ace Industrial Supply has been calling for one of our representatives asking to place orders, send promotional materials, confirm shipping, verify product orders, etc. Not one time have we "approved" these orders.
They opened an account by calling us to say they were going to ship free cut off wheels, to which we could order more because they knew we would love them. Then we got a bill in the mail.
I just received an order last week that we denied by phone more than once. $240 for a 29 piece drill bit set and $40 for shipping... when we have been buying our drill bits locally for 10+ years. I know because I have been ordering them!
I called them yesterday and said they were no longer allowed to talk to anyone at this company except the owner. Their customer service dept. agreed and told me that he put all the necessary information in the computer.
They called today 2/28/12 and "Joey" asked for our parts rep. to attempt to sell some more "promotional" items. He passed the call to another manager of ours, who argued with Joey about closing our account. Joey's response was that he would call back another time. At the end of the conversation, Joey said "Whatever" and hung up on him.
I emailed the compliance manager and sent a letter to their office. If this does not work we will be contacting the FTC, the attorney general and our local PD to interface with the Burbank police. This is harassment, and after reading all the other reviews, I am no longer surprised. I can't believe they conduct business this way.
Coincidentally, one of our mechanics found out about this and said that the same thing happened at the last shop he worked. SAME COMPANY... soliciting free promotional items that later lead to inflated charges.
Don't listen to their generic responses about someone at your office being identified as "buyer" because all they do is call and ask for your name and it goes straight on an invoice. They can't reply and say that they don't know enough about this issue or that they intend to repair it because we have been dealing with these people for weeks and the customer service dept. does nothing but say that someone "approved" the order. This company will haunt you if you do business with them.
