On 3/31/11, I went to EZ Lube for what I thought would be a simple oil change, with my $19.99 coupon in tow, I ended up paying $219.
I have a '09 Toyota Matrix that I just purchased 12/10.
The first assistant told me I needed synthetic oil, I gave him the manufacturer's manual and he told me it did not specify synthetic oil, but EZ Lube's computer system recommended it not Toyota!
The second assistant told me my filters needed to be replaced, he said they were black, I asked to see them I thought one was light grey the other a darker grey--ok, I agree with him and ask that he replace both.
The second assistant gave me this long story about his girlfriend's new car and what bad shape it was in, but somehow, in the middle of his discussion he claims he told me I needed "intake cleaning"???
I feel I was just duped into spending more than what I wanted to spend or needed. I told them that I would never, ever use them again.
