On February 4, 2010 I contacted Ventura, California FASTSIGNS for an estimate on some 3”x 6” vinyl decals. Nothing too fancy, one color, and I provided the artwork in a “pdf” format. Their price was higher than all of the other quotes and their promised time line was also longer than others also, but I wanted to keep my business local and decided to go with their product instead of using someone out of state. Big Mistake!! During our conversation I told the salesman the date that I would need them. After I sent them my artwork I received the quote and faxed a signed copy back as requested and provided a credit card number because the order had to be pre-paid. I have the email to prove it. Ten days after promised delivery I called the Ventura, California office and was told they were not ready yet. The “customer service” representative then added that the 7-10 days were actually “working days” and that I had a few more days to wait. I called again days later and spoke to the same salesman, who now suddenly could not remember the 7-10 days promise, now if was 10-14 “working days”. To make a long story short the original date I needed them had has now come and gone. Yesterday, March 3, 2010 I received a call that my decals were ready. I told the salesman that I no longer needed them but, since I signed the quote I could not cancel the order even thought they were late. I spoke to the owner/manager, Mr. Saurabh Bajaj to discuss the lateness of my order. Mr. Saurabh Bajaj was argumentative and rude, but finally did offer me $50.00 of on a future order; he’s kidding right? The bottom line for Mr. Saurabh Bajaj, if I did not have the dates in writing there was nothing he could do. He then stated that this issue “comes up all the time” and when I suggested it might benefit him and his company to put the due date on the contract he thought it was a good idea. Today I went to the store, driving almost 60 miles to pick up my decals. I was certainly surprised to discover that the amount my credit card was charged was $50.00 more than the estimate! It seems they added a “file conversion” for $50.00 without my knowledge, approval, or bothering to place it n the estimate I signed. I urge anyone considering doing business with the company to run, not walk, away as fast as you can. The quality of their work is marginal at best, their time lines are a joke, and their behavior once they have your credit card number, in my opinion, is borderline criminal.
