DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HOUSE PRO, INC!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HOUSE PRO!!! Their business address and phone number are BOGUS, their Contractor's License has was suspended due to a Bond payout issue and is now expired as of 1 July 2009. In addition, the license cannot be renewed until the Bond payout issue is resolved. (check out the following WEB site www2.cslb.ca.gov/Online Services/CheckLicense/LicenseRequest.asp and enter House Pro's license no. 802795)
House Pro, Inc did a kitchen remodeling job for me. They started May 27 and finished June 28. This job should have only taken two weeks to complete: actual days on the job was only 11 days; there were 9 "NO-Show" days with no explanation or phone calls.
David Mc Casey is a smooth talker, but he CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!! The only contact I had with him was via his cell phone, but he would never answer, and when I left messages, he would not return my calls. The only time he called me was to get money.
After the job was finally completed, there were several items that needed to be fixed and/or reworked. However, after I paid David in full, that was the last I heard from him. FORGET THE 10 YEAR LABOR / 1 YEAR PARTS WARRANTY, once David Mc Casey had my money, as far as he was concerned, I no longer existed!!
I got an estimate for the necessary re-work/repairs to my kitchen cabinets (broken pull-out shelves, re-staining, door hinge missing screws, bubbles in wood veneer, etc). While checking for these item that needed fixing, the other building contractor and I discovered really poor and sloppy workmanship of the entire kitchen remodeling project.
I currently have filed a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board and a Bond Claim with House Pro, Inc's Bond Company - Great American Insurance Company. I was informed by the Bond Company that there is another Bond Claim filed by another dissatisfied House Pro customer, and the total of both our claims exceeded House Pro's $12,500.00 bond limit. I was offered a pro rata amount, which I accepted (better than nothing).
I cannot stress enough: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They are not legally licensed to conduct business anyway. David Mc Casey is a smooth-talking but unscrupulous businessman. HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HOUSE PRO, INC - DAVID MC CASEY TO ANYONE !!!
