Review 12/2/2008
We hired The Kitchen Connection in September 2008 to replace our kitchen countertops. Nothing major since we have fairly small kitchen. As material we chose quartz and we were told it would take 2-3 weeks to be installed since stone has to be custom cut to fit, ok. Worker came, removed old countertop and put plywood on top. He also took sink claiming that they will need it for measurement and that plywood could not hold it because it's too heavy anyway. At the end of week 2 I called to see when workers will come and finish the job. Lady (Sue) in the office didn't tell me any specific date but "don't worry, we'll take care of it". Third week went by and nobody called and nobody showed up. When I called, Sue told me that material had been held in port and manufacturer didn't tell them when it would be released yet. So I called the next week to hear the same. I called every other day since and by the end of week 5 all I heard was the same old story about material being in port and nobody knew a thing. I got upset and told Sue that if was not told any information by the end of day, I'm hiring different company since they cannot handle it themselves. I also told her that company took our sink and she was very suprised about it and said they will install it before they come and install countertops. She said they would come the following week to finish the job, ok. On week 6 worker came to install the sink but didn't bring sink with him. When I told him that company has our sink he said he didn't know about it. He called office and nobody knew where our sink went. After half of hour Sue called and told me that other company has our sink. At that point I found out that I'm dealing with 2 companies- one that does installing and one that supplies the material. So they brought sink later that day and installed it. I found out it's chipped and called Sue about it. She said "they are not responsible for damages because it's my sink". Countertop installation was scheduled for Thursday of week 6. The same day Sue called and said workers didn't show up and rescheduled the appointment for the next day. On Friday she called that workers would be late and wanted to reschedule for Saturday to do the whole job. We agreed on starting on Friday afternoon and finish on Saturday. Workers came and installed countetops on Friday. I found some stains and 1 inch deep cut on countetops after they left. Nobody showed up on Saturday. I called on Monday and found out that Sue is no longer with company. New girl promised to call back after finding out details. She never did. So next day I called back again, spoke to different person, explained the situation and was promised to be called back. 2 days later guy called to collect the money. I told him that job is not done, backsplash had not been installed, cocking is not finished and damages are not fixed. He said it's the other company's responsibility but he would tell them. Several more phone calls had been exchanged before workers came and installed backsplash on week 8. Once again, job was not completed, cocking was not applied, damages were not fixed and company demanded money as if everything was finished. On week 9 supervisor of second company came over to take a look at damages. He sent worker to fix everything. Even then I had to show him what's not done and remind him of things that he missed. He filled the cut with glue and sand it down so it's barely visible.
Now, after more that 2 months, our countertops are finished. They look nice but would I recommend this company to anyone? Never!!!
