First and last time I'll visit this store. Terrible service, no refunds, will not take credit and rude employees. BEWARE.
Came in with a return package going back to Overstock. Got the biggest attitude from the lady there. As soon as I step in she says, "what is that??" "It's a return, I have a label," I said, showing her the printed label Overstock gave me for the return. She then tells me that the return needs to be in a box, to which I told her that I received the package that way. It was an ottoman that Overstock shipped, wrapped in plastic and pallet wrap. She looks at me for a few seconds and says, "A dollar!!," rolling her eyes at me. "A dollar?" I ask. "Yes, a dollar for tape, you need to tape the label to the package," she says. I ask my two buddies who were with me for a dollar and none of us were carrying cash. I hadn't anticipated that they were going to charge us to tape the label to the package, knowing that UPS offers FREE clear adhesive envelopes for labels printed on regular paper. "I'm sorry", I tell her, "we don't have cash, do you take credit." "No, cash only. You don't even have a dollar???, she says in a very condescending, and demeaning manner. I shake my head and she says, "You want to pay a dollar with a credit card??" By now, i'm getting annoyed. My buddy pulls out his ATM card and tells her to charge him on his card. She take his card, swipes it and makes him sign. We are ready to walk out of there with the ottoman and the label still sitting in the middle of the store and she's about to leave her register and my buddy says, "thank you, but we didn't like the attitute you gave us." She turns to us and argues that she didn't give us an attitude. We beg to differ. That's when the tall guy steps in and starts yelling at us, and says that it's UPS that tells them to give us an attitude.
"Huh?, UPS tells you to give us an attitude?", I repeated, incredulously. This is a little too much trouble just for dropping off a package that had a prepaid "RS" label from UPS. I told them that I'll just drop this off somewhere else and requested that my buddy be given a refund on his card. Then the guys says" NO Refunds!" Ok, fine. We walk out of there with my ottoman, which is not very big, and which i'm able to easily lift by myself. The tall guy follows us to the rear parking lot and decides to take my friends license plate number. We're not sure why, but he does. I ask him for his name and he doesn't tell me. I ask him again and he says it's "Bob" And we drive away.
Terrible service and a complete nightmare. I have 3 UPS corporate business accounts and I figured it would just have been easier to drop this off because it's near my residence and I don't drive a sedan. Big mistake. I'll be contacting my regional UPS sales reps (2, CA) and (1, TX) and telling them about this incident. I'll be very hard pressed to continue using them for my businesses if my customers are getting this type of service from their UPS stores.
