Well, for better or worse, this is a review of my most recent experience with Ticketmaster.
I purchased 2 seats to an upcoming Bob Dylan concert. I was online the very second tickets went on sale (10 a.m.). I wanted the "best available" tickets, but to avoid confusion, I figured I would select the top tier price selection and go from there. I submitted my request but was told there were no results to my search. Hmm, ok. I attempted this 2 more times, each with the same result. Frustrated, knowing that time was ticking, when I was returned to the "Find A Ticket" page I chose "Best Available". This time I got two seats. Not bad seats, mind you. But, not what I would have willingly paid for. Then, unfortunately, my curiosity got the best of me!

I returned to the "Find A Ticket" page, and submitted a search for two seats. And, whaddya know??? Two tickets on the 4th row! WAYYYYYY better than what I got. I then got a little steamed.

I returned again approx 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later, and then 1 hour after I had purchased my tickets. Each time there were MUCH BETTER seats offered to me than what I had purchased! I saw red!

Knowing full well what the result would probably be, I sent a respectful request for a ticket upgrade and spelled out in detail what I had seen and when I had seen it, just in case they felt like checking up on me! 2 days later, a form letter arrived which was more like an answer page to the "FAQs" of Ticketmaster, and really was no attempt to address the grievance I spelled out to them. I replied back, asking if we could try this again because this did nothing to answer my question. 2 days after that, I got a "hand writted" e-mail which basically repeated what was stated in the form letter.

Am I alone in feeling like there is a "bait and switch" going on here????

I understand using credit cards for ticket purchases does make it a little more complicated. Someone could buy front row seats and then possibly, for whatever reason, perhaps their transaction is declined. This makes it possible for front row seats to then be "unfrozen" and made available well after the start of the sale.

But, come on! I had FOUR opportunities to buy better seats well after purchasing mine using the "Best Available" option. This cannot be a coincidence, and, Ticketmaster does not seem interested in any remedy.

I have submitted a complaint here to BBB, and should my complaint be resolved, I will personally and publically apologize. However, if I get the runaround again, I will update everyone on that as well.

Thanks for reading and don't be afraid to stand up if you are treated unfairly in any business arrangement!
